Men in Blue – A Total Whitewash

The Test series between the World Cup Champions, India & England ended today with a magnificent win of 4-0 for England. I am sure not even the English fans had hoped for such a win. England played exceptionally well and they rightfully deserve the number one spot in the ICC Test Rankings.

On the other hand, it was really annoying to see the World Cup Champions take a flawless thrashing at the hands of the England team. What shall we call it - A tragedy or a comedy? Four straight Tests and not a single win. Is it not too much of a shame for the Men in Blue to handle? One understands that sitting in-front of the TV screen and criticizing the players doing their best on the field is not acceptable. But, is this the best our players, the current World Cup Champions, can offer? A humiliating defeat.

I guess the Indian players are still in the celebration mode. They have been given abundant rewards when they won the World Cup. And now they have thoroughly disappointed the Indian people. That’s the sole reason, one should be given what they truly deserve & nothing in excess because when the excess starts pouring in, one does not realize its value. India’s number one spot hardly remained for 2 months and England played magnificently to bring India’s ranking down to the 3^rd position.

I just hope BCCI & the State Governments realize their mistake and do the needful to divert such funds towards the development of the needy and underprivileged rather than misusing the public money to provide for the unnecessary gifts in cash or kind.
